"Jesus Loves Me"

I believe all mothers have a collection of memories that are etched into their minds. One of my favorite memories is when my oldest daughter was around two

and my husband and I took her on an evening walk. We just happened to be close to an open field and tree line when the sun was starting to set. Mid-step, she stopped and looked at the sky. The colors were breathtaking and I remember asking her what she thought. But she seemed to be in her own world and did not respond to me. Then all of the sudden she started dancing with her hands held high and singing:

“Jesus loves me this I know. For the Bible tells me so. Little ones to him belong. They are weak, but He is strong. Yes, Jesus loves me. Yes, Jesus loves me. Yes, Jesus loves me. The Bible tells me so.”

This is why I love the innocence and faith of children. Most of the time, we are all too busy to simply notice the beauty of a sunset, let alone reflect on how it equates to Jesus’s love for us. Today, let’s look for simple things that help us remember the fact that we are deeply loved by our Creator. And maybe even sing to yourself a round of “Jesus Loves Me.”

“16 And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.” (1 John 4:16, NKJV)
